the gist: i want to be famous
i've come to a very real conclusion: i don't want to be an expert. i want to be an ~influencer.~ and it's not just that i want it. it seems to be the only option for my actual life. here's the thing about experts. experts are just that — experts. their income streams from being available and being sharp. and me? i'm good at stuff. genuinely. but my availability is a rumor. it depends on whether i'm pregnant, how much i'm working, what my kids are doing that week. so even if i'm an expert in something, i don't want my only income to depend on my expertness showing up to work. so the name of the game for me and my pregnancy-proof-striving self is personal brand, baby. making money posting videos of me barfing. getting diaper brand deals. and still having the expertise to drop a dope digital product or software when i'm physically able. and here's why this realization has been so relieving. in giving up on being an expert, you know what i no longer obsess over? lighting. which camera i'm using. my mic. editing. now? it's my iphone. no mic. edited on the same iphone. new rule: if i can't do it from bed, i'm not doing it now. ◼
the part i almost cut: before the relief, i had a low-key panic attack. "what will people think of me if nothing's polished?"
it's a trip, putting yourself online for the world to look at and comment on. i don't think that part ever fully stops being at least a little tricky.
anyway. it's working. in the last two weeks i've had over half a million views. before that, i was at basically zero. come check it out. follow me. don't make me beg. ◼

My from-h@#$ pregnancies killed my $2.12M business and my client list with Tony Robbins on it. This time, everything gets built "pregnancy-proof," so my life and business thrive on 60 min/day. Steal the playbook as I build it.
◼ the gist: verdict is still out alright. maria wendt has an instagram ad strategy that goes like this: post organic content if it pops, run ads to it now that content keeps bringing you followers long after the algorithm stops you're essentially making your highest-converting content evergreen. i LOVE this. it feels very pregnancy-proof — pieces from a year ago could still bring me followers, cheap. maria's team is acquiring followers for $0.50–$1.00. which is great, especially if you're...
◼ the gist: my crying prayer maybe this is TMI. sharing it anyway. i recently posted a video about miscarriage. i didn't want to. i felt prompted by God to do it, so i did. it blew up. 72.3K views. then God put it heavier on my heart to talk about miscarriage. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, and somehow we still don't know how to talk about it. i guess everyone also eventually dies and we don't know how to talk about that either. trauma is just hard. then a memory of miscarrying came...
◼ the gist: the law of averages is brutal alrighty. first of all: this is unreal. sept 1–13: 1.53M views. +793 followers.aug 17–31: 13,375 views. -1 follower. i'm 25 days into posting for real, REALLY going for it. i don't know everything. but i'm starting to get the tiniest glimpse of how this game is played. the biggest insight? the devastating law of averages. i post about 8 pieces of content a day. the goal is for ONE to pop off. sometimes not even that happens. last friday, the reel that...
